Harbor, a black & tan Coonhound, is definitely a unique dog. He is from Boulder, Colorado & he is on the record for the longest ears on a dog. His ears are measured 13.5 & 12.25 inches. His owner, Jennifer West, said that when he was a puppy he would trip & roll down the stairs because of his oddly shaped ears. I would think that this dog would have a hard time walking & it would be pretty akward when the wind starts blowing.This dog has a lot of records in the book. His ear span is longer than the shortest man. His ear span is also bigger than the world's smallest legal car. You could also fit the world's smallest dog twice on each of Harbor's ears.
The dog that held this record was Tigger, who had both ears 13.5 inches. He died 2 years ago.
I can't believe that dog has ears that long, how does that even happen.
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy. Just the fact that his ears are that long is mind blowing. My dogs’ ears are microscopic compared to Harbor’s! I wonder if it is genetic, did his parents have long ears too? I wonder if people breed dogs for that reason now. I also wonder why there is a three fourths inch difference between each ear, normally when you see a dog their ears are basically the same length. His other records bring up a lot of questions too, how tall is the shortest man, or the smallest car (can people even ride in that)? At least once he grew up he is not stepping on them anymore.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for the dog. Its ears are longer than my feet! And i thought my feet were big. I wonder if the dog gets annoyed with his ears being in the way sometimes.
